 DescriptionAmbassador Steel, a division of Harris Rebar, is seeking a Rebar Detailer to meet our expanding needs in our Waukesha, WI location. The Rebar Detailer position is a critical technical function in our rebar fabrication business. Detailers are responsible for the creation of rebar placing drawings and material orders for reinforcing steel and related products on our construction projects.

 Requirements

Candidates must have:

• Have Microstation or Autocad experience
• Have three to five years rebar detailing experience
• Work as part of a team in an office environment
• Be able to develop relationships with key customers
• Be proficient in Microsoft Office applications
• Have knowledge of reinforcing steel terms and concepts
• Posses excellent communication and time management skills
• Be able to read and understand structural drawings

Additional experience or knowledge in these areas is a plus:

• Independent judgment, excellent organization skills
• Flexible to coordinate multiple projects
• Experience (including jobsite) working with or for concrete contractors, general contractors and rebar placers
• 3D modeling in Revit / Tekla or any other modeling product

We are currently looking to recruit a dynamic Drafter with a minimum of 3 years design drafting experience. You must have excellent AutoCAD skills and work well in a fast paced consultancy environment. You will have the ability to work under pressure in a strong design team.

The successful applicant will be experienced in working with X refs on AutoCAD as well as design in reinforced concrete slabs, columns and beams. Structural steel detailing experience would also be a great advantage. This is ideally a contract to perm position in the structural design team. Knowledge of industry codes, specifications, and standards is imperative. Candidate must supply work examples and verifiable references. They must currently be authorized to legally work in the United States.
